How…how long do you think that Harry Potter will last?
I just
Do you think that it’s going to be something like Disney?
Do you think that 80+ years into the future, we’re still going to be enjoying the stories and the theories and the different adaptations?
Do you think that people will share old photos of J.K. Rowling who has long since gone onto her next adventure?
Do you think that our grandchildren and their grandchildren will know the stories of The Boy Who Lived?
Do you think that it’ll be something like Shakespeare in that sense?
Forever adapted over the centuries?
Four hundred years from now, are kids going to be regarding Harry Potter as an ancient series?
Am I having some sort of weird existential crisis about the length of Harry Potter’s legacy?
I think that the answer to all of these questions is yes.

Samwise Gamgee’s speech to Frodo Baggins in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
“Frodo: I can’t do this, Sam. Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights, we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end,…
My knee . . .
Having hurt my knee again … I’ve been reminded of the near helplessness I experienced 11 years ago when I hurt my knee the first time. This time, it didn’t last so long, and I did experience the same problems trying to get comfortable and trying to move around in bed without stressing my knee all over again. This just came to me
A tangent happened, I followed the write rabbit down a very deep rabbit hole and this is what I came out with;
“Mercy is a swift death, free of suffering”
I’m unsure what I can do with just this phrase, but I do envision some possibilities.
Is it ok for me to be so pissed off that I didn’t want to come home from work tonight because my roommate is a selfish asshole who is going to cancel his cable/TV bill simply because he doesn’t use it anymore, with no regard or care for the fact that I need it to conduct my own affairs in the Internet. I mean I get that his cell provider gives him a really great plan but still.
